WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Book on Aranya Vihaara before you go, because spot entry is not allowed. After a woman went missing for days in early 2026, the trail was closed briefly in April, and the state's April 2026 trekking rules made a guide mandatory (one per ten trekkers). It has not always been listed as bookable in 2026, so confirm there are open dates on the portal before you plan around it.

HISTORY & BACKGROUND

Tadiandamol (about 1,748 m) is the highest peak in Kodagu and is described as the third highest in Karnataka. It lies in the Brahmagiri range, and the Nalknad Palace stands at its foothills. Camping has been banned since December 2016.
