White marble temple, calm and free — fine as a sunset stop if you're nearby, but not distinct enough from other Birla temples across India to justify a special trip. Phones/cameras must be left at the counter (small deposit locker).
Built by the industrialist Birla family (B.M. Birla Foundation) and completed in 1988, this is one of several Lakshmi Narayan temples the family funded across India; construction began around 1977 under the direction of Ghanshyam Birla. Local tradition holds that the land at the base of Moti Dungri hill was sold to the Birlas by the Jaipur royal family for a token sum of one rupee. Built entirely of white marble in a modern interpretation of traditional Hindu temple architecture, it is dedicated to Vishnu and Lakshmi and features stained-glass depictions of Hindu scripture and imagery drawn from multiple faiths on its facade.
