Busier and more functional than Laxman Jhula — it's the main pedestrian link to Swarg Ashram and Parmarth Niketan, so expect cattle, monkeys, and hawkers on the crossing itself.
Built in 1986 by the state Public Works Department with support from Sivananda Ashram, this iron suspension bridge replaced an earlier, weaker jute-rope crossing at the site. Spanning 750 feet across the Ganges, it links Sivananda Nagar in Muni Ki Reti to Swargashram, connecting pilgrims to Parmarth Niketan, Gita Bhawan and other riverside ashrams. It is Rishikesh's newer and longer sister bridge to Laxman Jhula, built further downstream.
