WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

A small natural spring 5 km from Manali named after Jawaharlal Nehru, who reportedly drank from it. There's little to see beyond the spring itself - only worth a stop if it's directly on your route to Solang or Kothi.

HISTORY & BACKGROUND

This natural spring, fed by meltwater originating from Bhrigu Lake, was named in honor of India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who is said to have stopped to drink from it during visits to Manali and favored its cold, clear water. Located along the Manali-Leh highway roughly 6 km from town, it became a minor point of local pride after being associated with Nehru and has since been maintained as a small roadside stop rather than developed as a major attraction. It remains valued locally for the purity of its spring water, drawn directly from glacial sources higher in the Pir Panjal range.
