One of the few temples in India dedicated to sage Manu, said to be the site where he meditated after the Great Flood. Small and simple - worth a quick stop if you're already walking through Old Manali, not a dedicated trip.
This is regarded as the only temple in India dedicated to the sage Manu, described in Hindu tradition as the progenitor of the human race and sole survivor of a great flood, and credited as author of the ancient legal text Manusmriti. Local tradition holds that Manu meditated at this precise spot after coming ashore following the deluge, giving Old Manali (and Manali itself) its name. The current wood-and-stone Kath-Kuni structure is said to have been rebuilt roughly 400 years ago by a local ruler and was further renovated in the 19th century, though its origins as a site of worship are held to be far older.
