HISTORY & BACKGROUND

Built and extended by the Mewar rulers over centuries on the hill above Lake Pichola, the City Palace is a maze of courtyards, mirror-work rooms, balconies and museums with sweeping lake views. It is the single biggest sight in the city, and the Crystal Gallery and the boat ride are ticketed separately.
