Small zoo/park with Himalayan species (snow leopard, musk deer) in enclosures. Decent if you have kids and time in Kufri to fill; skippable otherwise.
The site began as a Musk Deer breeding farm established in 1965, later expanded and formally established as the Himalayan Nature Park in 1992 to conserve Himalayan flora and fauna. The Central Zoo Authority of India formally recognized it as a zoo in 1996. Spread over roughly 90 hectares at about 2,600 m altitude, it was purpose-built for conservation rather than colonial-era entertainment, housing species such as musk deer, Himalayan black and brown bears, and leopards in naturalistic enclosures.
