A 67m waterfall that's genuinely impressive right after monsoon and a disappointing trickle in dry winter months (Nov-Mar) — time your visit or skip it.
The waterfall was originally known locally as 'Chidku Jhaar,' with 'Chidku' meaning sparrow in the local dialect, so named because only sparrows were thought capable of reaching its top. British colonists, unable to pronounce the local name easily, anglicized it to 'Chadwick,' with some accounts attributing the new name directly to a British officer named Chadwick who is said to have documented the falls. Fed by mountain streams and dropping roughly 100 metres, it has featured on Shimla's tourist circuit since the colonial era.
