Opened in March 2007, Wax World was conceived by Ooty-based entrepreneur Shreeji Bhaskaran and is housed in a colonial-era mansion said to be over a century old. Unlike the older heritage attractions in Ooty, it is a modern, privately-run venture that displays wax figures of Indian freedom fighters, political leaders, and global historical figures, aimed at popular tourism rather than any colonial or ancient provenance.
