Tea-estate viewpoint on the same road as Dolphin's Nose — easy to combine both in one Coonoor circuit rather than treating them as separate trips.
The viewpoint was named in the mid-19th century by E.B. Thomas, the Collector of Coimbatore, after a Captain Lamb who financed and cut the original path to the site. It became a favored picnic and sightseeing spot for British colonial officials, offering sweeping views over the Coimbatore plains, the Moyar River gorge, and surrounding tea and coffee estates, and remains connected to Coonoor's network of plantation-era roads.
