Small archaeological and tribal-culture museum covering Toda, Badaga, and Kota communities of the Nilgiris. Worth it if you're interested in the region's indigenous history; skippable if you're short on time.
Established in 1989 by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, the museum is housed near the Stone House area not far from the site of John Sullivan's original 1822 residence. Its collection focuses heavily on the region's indigenous communities, with particular emphasis on the Toda tribe alongside artifacts from roughly 18 tribal groups of the Nilgiris, including jewelry, textiles, tools, and sculptures documenting pre-colonial and colonial-era tribal life.
