12 km from Coonoor at ~1,500m, view of the valley and Catherine Falls in the distance. Clouds roll in by late morning most months — go early or skip it if the forecast shows haze.
This rock outcrop, whose silhouette resembles a dolphin's snout, became a fixture of the Nilgiri sightseeing circuit as Coonoor developed into a hill station during the British era. Perched over 1,550 metres above sea level about 10 km from Coonoor, the viewpoint overlooks Catherine Falls and the plains below, and was popularized alongside the tea-estate roads the British built through the surrounding hills.
