WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

A generic amusement/waterpark 8km from center — fine if traveling with young kids who need a break from temples, but it has nothing specifically Mysore about it and eats a half day you could spend on Somnathpur or Srirangapatna instead

HISTORY & BACKGROUND

Opened in the 1990s (commonly cited as 1994) off KRS Road at Metagalli, GRS Fantasy Park was among the first water-and-amusement theme parks to open in the Mysore region, helping establish organized family leisure tourism in the city beyond its historical and religious sites. Spread across roughly 30 acres, it later added a snow park and other themed attractions, reflecting the broader growth of commercial recreational tourism infrastructure in Karnataka since the economic liberalization era.
