The bigger of Arpora's two Saturday markets, skewing toward European vendors with live music. Reviewers are blunt: if you want serious shopping this isn't the place - it works better as a food-and-music night out.
Founded by the late German expatriate Ingo Fischer in the late 1980s, the market began as a small gathering of foreign residents selling crafts and food in Arpora and grew into North Goa's flagship night bazaar over the following decades. It was conceived partly as a way for the resident hippie and expatriate community to sustain itself during the tourist season through legitimate trade rather than informal beach bartering. Following Ingo's death in 2012, the market has continued under new organizers and retains his name in popular usage, running seasonally from November to April.
